Behind the clock

I opened my eyes,

Still in a haze from the high of the weekend. Of, busy with kids, school, business plans, music, and the beautiful issues of having an old school car.

As shades of cloudy blue rays peeked through my window, I heard the red and blue jays chirping and playing in the empty lot next to my house. I thought about how they always seemed to catch the first moments in the rising of the sun before me every day. Just like the crickets, mosquitos, and frogs catch the rising of the moon. 6:45 AM, feeling the footsteps hit the ground of my hollow floor as my kids drag themselves out of bed for school. My eyes were open but my body felt numb. I looked over at my desk sitting a foot away from the end of my bed asking myself " Why do I feel drained after finally getting a full night's rest?"

Could it be what I ate? Maybe my social drinking with thyroid issues?

I sat up, still not feeling able to move, remembering how much energy I had working on projects dear to my heart. Catching the red and blue jays and even the crickets at night rise.

Have you ever heard anyone tell you to find time for yourself but don't quit your job and can never tell you how or if that even worked for them? How do you find the time?

not everyone has a spouse that pays all the bills, a well-off retired mom and dad, or some inheritance that comes through as a blessing at the final hour.

Some are fighting generational cruses and aching for SOMETHING new but it feels like this world never gives time for you to even think about that.

My thoughts lingered until OOP! time to clock in...
